What this tool does

Multiply length by width for each room, then add the rooms. The total is shown in square feet and square meters.

How to use

  1. Enter the length and width of the first room.
  2. Choose feet or meters.
  3. Add another room if you need one.
  4. Press Calculate.

    The area is 100 square feet, which is 9.29 square meters.

How it works

Area is length times width. A room entered in feet is converted with 0.09290304 square meters per square foot. A room entered in meters is converted the other way. Blank extra rows are skipped.

Tips

  • Leave an extra room blank if you do not need it.
  • Use the same kind of measurement on both sides of one room.

Limitations

The page measures rectangles. It does not subtract closets or add triangles.

FAQ

How do you calculate square footage?
Multiply length by width. For several rooms, add each room's area.
How are square feet converted to square meters?
One square foot is 0.3048 times 0.3048 square meters, which is 0.09290304.
Can rooms use different units?
Yes. Each room has its own feet or meters choice, and the totals are converted into both units.
What if an extra room is blank?
A row with no length and no width is skipped.
Are negative sizes allowed?
No. A negative length or width is rejected.
Are these numbers sent to a server?
No. Length and width are multiplied in this tab. Those measurements are not sent to a server.
