How to Repeat a Word or Line
By Tools Star Hub Editorial Team · Published
To repeat a word, phrase, or line, enter the text, a whole-number count from 1 to 200, and a separator of nothing, a space, or a new line. The separator goes between the copies, not after the last one. A count of 1 is the text you typed, with nothing added.
Typing the same line many times is where an extra space or a missing line shows up. The page copies the text the number of times you ask and joins those copies with the separator you chose. It does not generate placeholder Latin, and it does not remove duplicates.
How to repeat a word or line
- Enter the text to repeat. An empty box is rejected. A line that contains only spaces is allowed, because those spaces are text. The source can be up to 5,000 characters. The copies are built in this browser tab. Tools Star Hub does not send that text to a server or save it in local storage.
- Enter a whole-number count from 1 to 200. Zero, a decimal, and a negative number are rejected. A count of 1 returns one copy and does not add a separator.
- Choose nothing, a space, or a new line. Nothing joins the copies directly. A space puts one space between copies. A new line puts each copy on its own line. The separator is not added after the last copy.
- Press Repeat and check the length. The joined result can be up to 100,000 characters. A longer result is rejected. Shorten the text or lower the count, then press Repeat again.
Example
A word three times
ha, count 3, with a space between copies, becomes ha ha ha. There is no space after the last ha.
A line twice
Ready, count 2, with a new line between copies, becomes Ready on one line and Ready on the next. The second line is not followed by an extra blank line from the separator.
Things to watch
What this page does not do
It does not generate placeholder Latin. It does not remove duplicate lines. A repeated sentence stays, because that is what Repeat is for. Use the Lorem Ipsum Generator when you want placeholder text, and the Duplicate Line Remover when you want repeated lines taken out.
The length limits
The source can be up to 5,000 characters, the count can be up to 200, and the joined result can be up to 100,000 characters. A longer result is rejected.
