What this tool does

Join two to ten PDFs in the order you arrange, up to 80 pages combined. Use it when a cover and a report should be one file. A password-protected PDF will not open, and forms are not flattened.

How to use

  1. Add two or more PDF files.
  2. Confirm each file’s name, size and page count.
  3. Reorder the list if needed. The merged file follows this order.
  4. Merge and download. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened.

Examples

  • Cover plus report

Add cover.pdf then report.pdf, or use Up/Down to swap them, then merge.

  • One file only

A single PDF does not need merging. Add a second file first.

How it works

The merger copies pages from each document in list order using a local PDF library. It does not flatten forms or remove encryption. Combined page counts are capped so the tab stays usable.

Limitations

At least two PDFs are required, and no more than 10. The combined page count has to stay at 80 or below. A password-protected file will not open. Forms are not flattened, and encryption is not removed.

See the disclaimer for what these tools do not cover.

FAQ

Is the PDF Merger free?
Yes. Combining PDFs in this browser does not require payment or an account.
Can I merge a locked PDF?
Not if it is password-protected. Unlock the file in a PDF reader first.
Is my input sent to a server?
No. The files are joined in this tab. They are not uploaded and not kept in local storage.
How do I combine PDF files into one?
Add two or more PDFs, put them in the order you want, then merge and download the single combined file.
Does merging PDFs reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied into the new file as they are, so text and images are not re-compressed.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. You can open this page on a phone or tablet. File pickers and downloads use the browser on your device. Large files may be slower on a small phone than on a desktop.
