What this tool does

Turn an hourly rate and a weekly schedule into weekly, monthly, and annual pay, or start from a salary and see the hourly rate.

How to use

  1. Choose hourly rate or annual salary.
  2. Enter hours per week and weeks per year.
  3. Enter overtime hours and a multiplier, or leave overtime at 0.
  4. Press Calculate.

Examples

  • 20 dollars an hour

40 hours a week for 52 weeks is 41,600 dollars a year before overtime.

  • A 52,000 dollar salary

At 40 hours and 52 weeks, the hourly rate is 25 dollars.

Main features

  • Hourly-to-salary and salary-to-hourly.
  • Overtime at a multiplier you choose.
  • Weekly, monthly, and annual totals.

How it works

Regular annual pay is the hourly rate times hours per week times weeks per year. In salary mode, the hourly rate is the salary divided by that same schedule. Overtime pay is overtime hours times the hourly rate times the multiplier, then times weeks per year. Monthly pay is the annual total divided by 12.

Tips

  • Use 52 weeks for a full year.
  • Use a multiplier of 1.5 for time and a half, or 1 if overtime is paid at the regular rate.

Limitations

This is gross pay from the hours you enter. It does not subtract taxes, benefits, or unpaid time off.
