How to Build a Prompt, and When That Text Leaves the Browser
By Tools Star Hub Editorial Team · Published
Generate prompt joins the fields on this page into a prompt and stays in the browser. Generate with AI posts a subset of those fields to this site, which sends them to Google's Gemini API and returns a rewritten prompt. A preset only fills boxes. It does not call Gemini. Neither button runs the finished prompt in a writing model.
The local prompt includes the platform or use case. The AI request does not. Generate with AI sends topic, goal, audience, tone, language, output format, level of detail, and additional instructions. The required input is topic, goal, and additional instructions. If those three are blank, the AI button is rejected even when audience or use case is filled. Generate prompt is rejected only when both topic and goal are blank. The AI input can be up to 4,000 characters.
How to build a prompt
- Add a topic or a goal. Choose a preset if you want starter values for use case, tone, format, detail, and extra instructions. A preset does not call the API.
- Press Generate prompt for the local text. It names the task, includes the filled lines, and ends with a line that says a missing fact should be stated instead of invented.
- Press Generate with AI only for the fields Gemini receives. That button sends topic, goal, audience, tone, language, output format, level of detail, and additional instructions. It does not send the platform or use case as its own field.
- Copy the result you want. Copy prompt copies the local result. Copy AI prompt copies the Gemini result. Clear empties the form and does not call the API.
Example
An email about office hours
Use case Email, topic Office hours, audience Customers, tone Brief, language English, format Email, detail Brief, and a blank goal produces this local prompt: You are helping with a specific task. Follow the constraints below. Task: Email. Topic: Office hours. Audience: Customers. Tone: Brief. Language: English. Output format: Email. Level of detail: Brief. If a fact is missing, say so instead of inventing it. That local text is not uploaded. Generate with AI on the same form would send the topic, audience, tone, language, format, detail, and the blank goal and instructions. It would not send the Email use case as its own field.
FAQ
- Where does Generate with AI go?

- What if the AI button says generation is not available?
- The site has no Gemini key configured, so the request stops before a model runs.
- What if I press it too often?
- The default limit is 10 AI requests in 60 seconds. The extra request asks you to wait a minute.
- Does a preset send anything?
- No. It only fills boxes on this page.
